  • What kind of souvenirs do you collect while traveling? Here at the Historeum we are big fans of post cards, one of the many types of #GiftShopGoodies that can be found in our store! This post card features the old Truro Railway Station.

Post cards are $1 / each, come grab yours’s today!
  • Can you guess what this item is? The Colchester Historeum has lots of interesting and unique #GiftShopGoodies located in its store.

This is a French Butter Dish, which holds butter inside! The coned interior shape makes it easy to scoop out butter to spread on a variety of yummy foods. They were invented in the early 1800s in either Brittany or Normandy and used to protect butter from going bad before the aid of refrigeration.

The Historeum currently has two of these gorgeous dishes in the Gift Shop made by the Nova Scotian company “Thrown Together Pottery and Art”. Each dish is priced at $45.

We hope to see you visit soon! Admission is not required to shop in the Gift Shop, however if you would like to take a look at our museum while you are here admission is only $5 per adults (seniors and student /kids discounts available)!

Stay tuned next Tuesday for another edition of “Gift Shop Goodies”!
