Program Offerings
The Historeum offers a variety of facilitated programs for school groups. Programs can be customized to meet the appropriate curriculum outcomes for given grades.
Bookings
Please book your program a minimum of two weeks in advance. This allows staff time to prepare for your group.
Chaperons
All groups must bring chaperones or group coordinators.
Cost
$3.50 per student
No charge for teachers and chaperons.
Capacity
Historeum staff can accommodate a maximum of 35 students per program.
Teachers often book simultaneous programs with the Colchester East Hants Public Library. For example, one class will attend a program at the Historeum from 10:00-11:00am while the other is at the library. The classes then switch locations at 11:00am. This allows students to experience the Historeum and Library programs.

Bathrooms
There are two gender neutral bathrooms located on the first floor of the Historeum next to the lobby.
Accessibility
The Historeum has a wheelchair ramp and elevator. There is also one wheelchair on site available for use.
Lunch
Students are welcome to eat their packed lunches in our main gallery on the first floor. Truro Civic Square’s greenspace is located next to the Historeum and weather permitting offers an enjoyable location for students to enjoy a packed lunch. Please be advised that we do not have a restaurant or cafeteria on site.
Historeum Shop
The Historeum gift shop is located in the lobby. Students should not peruse the gift shop before the program begins. Teachers may decide if the students are given time to view the gift shop after they have completed the program.
