  • We've got a photograph of the Texaco/Colchester Motor Sales, owned by Gordon Nelson, on the corner of Willow and Prince Street in 1959. This image was featured in our 2021 "Service Stations of Truro" calendar. #FromTheArchives #ThrowbackThursday
  • This #ThrowbackThursday is a hidden gem! It's a behind-the-scenes look at the Hub Hat Box, which was located on Prince Street, Truro, in 1948. Aside from knowing that Bessie Irwin was the proprietress, we have no other information about this local business. If anyone knows anything about the Hub Hat Box, please let us know and we will ensure the information gets recorded in the Archives!
  • Join us in person on May 10th and May 24th for a community engagement session with Nevin Jackson to learn about and discuss the history of the No. 2 Construction Battalion, and the local heroes and descendants.

An official National Apology to the descendants of the No. 2 Construction Battalion is scheduled for July 2022 in Truro.

Come and learn about the local connections and familial ties to the Battalion as we prepare for this historic event in July!

This event will be hosted at the Colchester Historeum over the course of two evenings- May 10th and May 24th 2022 at 7pm.

Admission to these events is free / by donation!
