As 47,800 girls across the country gather to celebrate 100 years of Canadian Guiding, local guide units in Colchester County have come together to present a special exhibit at the Colchester Historical Society Museum. Running from October 23rd until the end of November, the exhibit offers a chance to see examples of Girl Guide activities in Canada over the years and reflect on the many positive achievements of the Girl Guides of Canada.
On May 15, 2010 Girl Guides of Canada-Guides du Canada (GGC) celebrated 100 years of Guiding with National Rally Day, a day-long, cross-country celebration involving over 47,800 girls and women. Current and past Girl Guide Members are participating in rallies and activities occurring from coast to coast to coast celebrating the important role Guiding continues to play in communities across the country. Nationwide Rally Day celebrations began with sunrise ceremonies in Newfoundland and ended
with a sleepover for 8,000 girls in British Columbia, with hundreds of activities in every province in between.
