TRURO – June 10, 2011
Victoria Park will receive some much deserved exposure this summer through the second annual “Shutterbugs in the Park” photo contest.
The Colchester Historical Society and Carsand-Mosher Photographic are inviting all amateur photographers to explore the natural woodland park and enter their favourite photos in a community contest. The public will have an opportunity to vote on the finalists and the winners in each category will receive a prize.
“Victoria Park is a very important part of Colchester County. We hope this contest will encourage residents to get outside with family and friends and take advantage of what the park has to offer,” says contest coordinator Danielle Andres, “It’s also an excellent opportunity for amateur photographers to have their work displayed and viewed by the community.”
The summer contest and fundraiser opens June 15th and runs until August 15th. Entering a photo costs $5 and there is no limit to the number of times one may enter. Photos must be taken in Victoria Park and follow the guidelines detailed in the contest rules. Finalists will be determined by a panel of judges and displayed at the Museum for the public to vote on.
Entry forms and complete contest rules can be picked up at Carsand-Mosher on the Esplanade or the Colchester Historical Museum on Young Street, or downloaded from the museum’s website at colchesterhistoreum.ca. For additional information, please contact Danielle at 895-6284.
Thank you to our sponsor Carsand-Mosher Photographic for a total prize value of $475.00.
