Volunteers are needed for our first annual Built Heritage Tour on the weekend of June 4 and 5. Three historic Truro homes and one church will be open for public viewing, and we need volunteers to act as tour guides in each of these properties.
Five awards will be presented by the Colchester Historical Society on Thursday, February 24, at the Heritage Night Celebration.
A conference celebrating the Year of the Planters in Cobequid is set for June 11 at the Marigold Cultural Centre.
“It’s billed as ‘Stanfield’s: Knit into the Fabric of Colchester’ and it features photos, newspaper articles and historic accounts of Stanfield’s Limited, the well-known company with roots in Truro extending to the 1850s.”
Join us January 28th for a public talk and hands-on workshop with costume and textile specialist Bonnie Elliott. This program will offer a look at clothing worn in Cobequid during the period 1761 – 1780 and practical assistance on recreating Planter clothing.
