The nominees for the 2012 Atlantic Book Awards were announced on March 21. Necessaries and Sufficiencies: Planter Society in Londonderry, Onslow and Truro Townships 1761-1780 by Carol Campbell and James F. Smith were nominated in two categories—the Democracy 250 Atlantic Book Award for historical writing and the Dartmouth Book Award for non-fiction. The 2012 Atlantic Book Awards celebration is on Thursday, May 17 in St. John’s Newfoundland. The Colchester Historical Society wishes them the best of luck.
