The Colchester Historeum offers a range of programs including illustrated lectures, demonstrations, and activities.
We maintain a permanent and growing collection of Colchester artifacts—some dating as far back as 300 years.
Winter Public Hours (September until the 3rd weekend in May)
Tuesday – Friday, open 10am – 12 noon (closed for lunch), open 1 – 4pm
Summer Public Hours (3rd weekend in May until the end of August)
Monday – Friday, open 10am – 4pm daily
Museum Admission
Child (under 15): Free
Student: $4.00
Adult: $6.00
Senior: $5.00
Archives Admission
Included in the Museum Admission.

Group Admission Rates (non student)
Visits for groups of 10 or more people are available and must be booked in advance.
Group rates are for exhibits only and do not include Archives research fees.
*Guided tours are an $20 for up to 10 people above 10 is an extra $2 per person.
School Program Offerings (Students)
The Historeum offers a variety of facilitated programs for school groups.
Bookings
Please book your visit a minimum of two weeks in advance. This allows staff time to prepare for your group.
Chaperones
All groups must bring chaperones or group coordinators.
Cost
$3.00 per student
No charge for teachers and chaperones.
Capacity
Historeum staff can accommodate a maximum of 35 students per program.
Parking
Reserved parking spaces for museum and archive visitors are located at the rear of the building.
The Colchester Historeum Museum & Archives strives to be accessible to all visitors.
- The Museum entrance is wheelchair accessible, with a ramp leading up from the back parking lot.
- One complimentary wheelchair is available at the reception desk in the main entrance.
- An elevator that reaches all floors is wheelchair accessible.
- There are two gender neutral, wheelchair accessible restrooms located on the ground floor by the main entrance.
